The Lakers look to end their 8 game road trip (and two game New York City swing) with a bounce back vs. the lowly Brooklyn Nets after a disappointing 2nd half in MSG vs the Knicks. The Nets have posted a putrid 6-17 home record while the Lakers are one of the better road teams in the league at 17-11.
Los Angeles is a heavy -8.5 Favorite to close out the season long 8 game road trip but are still without Austin Reaves, Bronny & Adou Thiero are also OUT. Besides ending the Grammy trip over 500 (Currently 4-3) the Lakers also are narrowly avoiding the play in merely percentage points above the 7th place Phoenix Suns thanks to a loss to the James Harden less Clippers a couple nights ago. Dropping games in the Western Conference race is detrimental any way, dropping games you should absolutely win to a tanking Nets team would be nothing short of unacceptable. Look for the Lakers to cover tonight and some.
The problem as not been winning winnable games this year so a win won't mean all is well and we've pulled out of this LONG slump (15-4 turned into 29-19) but it is stacking more wins which is exactly what we need to distance ourselves from the dreaded Play-In. The Nets come in losing there last game by 53 POINTS although minus Michael Porter Jr. who's listed as day to day but we know what that means in Lakers land HE'S PLAYING! On the off hand let's hope the Lakers play so well they get Dalton Knecht minutes. It's time to find him a new home over the next 48 hours.
In short, the Lakers better win tonight. This is the one game this season they have zero business even allowing to be competitve.
