Charlamagne Tha God says LeBron is the Worst Thing to Happen for the Lakers, JJ Redick Not a Good Coach

Brilliant idiots is fitting. Please, take what he's saying with a grain of salt, he wasn't aware the Lakers even made the 2025 playoffs before he researched it, as hoop heads we know basketball ignorance is widely accepted bliss. Nationally syndicated radio host of 'The Breakfast Club' Lenard McKelvey aka Charlamagne tha God ripped the Lakers 41 year old All NBA (formerly as of Tuesday night) employee LeBron Raymone James and gave JJ Redick some smoke in a rant on his podcast 'The Brilliant Idiots' featuring comedian Andrew Schulz.

"The Lakers are a fucking mess bro" was his direct quote before Charlagmane dove directly into his hot take 35 seconds into the clip similarily titled - The Lakers are a MESS. I don't fully disagree with that sentiment. I do however fully disagree as did Schulz that LeBron is the worse thing to happen to the Lakers in the last "7 to 8 years". Such a stance makes me believe you didnt't watch the pre LBJ Lakers post Kobe achilles injury, let's just say you had to be a real fan. Or really love Kobe in 2016. I've heard similar thoughts from Lakers fans themselves with personal vendetta's against The King for one reason or another which usually comes from a place of Kobe vs. LeBron and even though i'm not on that train - I get it. However, to say he's been the worse thing is to discredit a championship which most organizations would trade 15-20 years for and LeBron gave the Lakers that return on investment in the second year, along with the dominoes that led to the Luka trade (and the Lakers future as we know it) being a direct result of James signing.

His JJ Redick portion seemed almost personal, even though im sure it's not. "You drafted Bronny to appease LeBron, one thing that never gets talked about and I don't understand why - you hired LeBron James podcast co host as the head coach of your organization a person who has never had any coaching experience - EVER, to appease him as well. And he is not a good coach. But for whatever reason, JJ Redick ducks all smoke. Why does JJ Redick not get smoke for not being a good coach?" I'll say he went a little hard on our head coach who endures his fair share of criticism with every setback since the first round exit vs the Timberwolves in 5 games after being mostly praised for his efforts going in. Hilariously after this he wasn't quite sure of Redicks tenure with the Lakers, the fact they made the playoff in 2025 or even who they played. So you can't take it too serious, but what's scary is alot of people feel the same way. I'm certainly not one of them.
